Commemorating (my band) Relient K's album Forget and Not Slow Down

LVL is the sound of this record. It wa s made entirely to achieve the sound of this record in a way that no other pedal does. It is a subtle and beautiful gain device, that loves to slam low wattage amps, and also interacts with every other pedal in an incredible way. 

The artwork on the pedal is taken from the album art, which may look like a photograph, but is actually a painting by Linden Frederick (who is our singer's uncle). Pedal design by Karen Schierhorn of Big Ear Pedals. 

LVL is my favorite guitar pedal. ever. period. for real.

This is so exciting to release this commemorative version of LVL. People have been asking about this for years now! This version is limited, and will be available to order for the next few days. I'm intentionally keeping the batch size small, to make sure that I can fulfill as fast as possible. These units will be made to order, but I already have most of the components in hand. Units will start shipping in the next two weeks, and all units will be shipped by the end of September. 

A few notes about the enclosure - this one pictured isn't exactly the final version. The artwork will be the same, but will be printed on a smooth powder coating (not textured as shown, it just looks better!). It is the same size and shape, but a slightly different approach to how the top and bottom plates fit, leaving a curved side on two sides, and a flat side on the other two. A new enclosure style is shown here in the listing images. It will also have a "Forget and Not Slow Down" and "LVL by 1981 Inventions" text on the bottom side. 

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE LVL CIRCUIT

LVL is a professional low-gain device, which achieves overdrive gain ranges with a new and unique circuit. A combination of light clipping and op-amp push gives the pedal a unique sound and gain structure.

This is the pedal I have always wanted to make. To me, it’s a perfect low-gain stage. It’s the culmination of a 4 year process, and a collaborative effort with my friend John Snyder of ELECTRONIC AUDIO EXPERIMENTS.

It works great on bass, which is what FULL-RANGE refers to. It also stacks with anything, makes most fuzz better if you put it after, makes most overdrives better if you put it before. It’s also great if you hit the front end with a little boost!

I can play an entire set with my band - Relient K, using only this pedal. If you’re familiar with our recordings, LVL is the Forget And Not Slow Down sound, where as DRV is the sound of Mmhmm. I use LVL for the intro of Be My Escape, and then kick on DRV for the chunkier parts. But really, LVL nails the intro tone for this song from MMHMM.
